A painter at work under magnification
THE ART OF ENAMEL

Painting in miniature.

A face you know, interpreted by hand in coloured glass.

Glass. Colour. Fire.

The portrait begins with finely ground coloured glass. Working under magnification, a painter builds the image a layer at a time, with repeated firings in a kiln.

It is a painted interpretation of your photograph: the shape of a face, its markings, the eyes and the expression. Small variations are part of the handwork.

THOUGHTFUL CARE

Made to be treasured.

Is the image painted or printed? +

Our vitreous enamel images are painted by hand and fired in a kiln. Each is a miniature painted interpretation, with the small variations that belong to handwork.

Does enamel keep its colour? +

Vitreous enamel is glass fused by heat. Its colour is lasting with proper care, but it can chip or crack under impact. It is a precious surface to handle gently.

How should I care for my piece? +

Store separately and avoid hard impacts, sudden temperature changes, swimming, perfume and harsh cleaners. Wipe the enamel gently with a soft dry cloth. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners and abrasive polishing. Silver may tarnish and plated finishes may wear; care advice is confirmed for your chosen material.

Can I arrange a repair or resizing? +

Contact us with clear photographs before sending a piece. Accidental damage repairs are assessed and quoted individually. We do not offer ring resizing, so please confirm your size carefully before design approval.

Aftercare & concerns
How long does a commission take? +

Allow around one week for the first design if no revisions are needed, then 30 working days for production after design approval, plus shipping time. Three design revision rounds are included. Rush requests depend on availability and may cost extra.
